Frequently asked questions about renting a car - part 1.

Renting a car from a rental agency seems simple enough, and in every rental company it should look the same. When renting a car, you rarely have time to read the regulations of the car rental company, and in addition, if you have used a car rental company before, you might think that you know the rules and what your obligations are. And this is where problems can occur. Some rental companies have their own specific requirements, and often you can unknowingly face additional stress. Here you will find answers to the most common questions about renting a car from Kaizen Rent.

What documents do I need to show at the time of rental?

When you pick up the vehicle, we will ask you to present

  • an identity document (e.g.: identity card, passport),
  • a valid driver's license (it is required that each person who will be driving the vehicle presents a driver's license)
  • A credit/debit card with the possibility to make a pre-authorization on the card.

Can I rent a car with a foreign driver's license?

You can rent a car without any problems if you hold a driving license recognized in Poland. In other cases, an international driver's license will be required.

Can I rent a specific model of car?

When making a reservation, you choose a vehicle segment and not a specific make or model. However, if let us know which specific model you are interested in, if that car is available, we will do our best to meet your expectations.

Where can I pick up/return my rental car?

You can pick up/return the car at any location. We charge a fee of PLN 40 for delivering or picking up a car at any specified location within cities where a Kaizen Rent branch office is located. The fee for delivering the vehicle to another location depends on the distance from our branch. Pick-up/return within 20 km is 60 PLN, and above 20 km it is PLN 50 + PLN 1 for each kilometer over 20 km.

You can pick up/return your car free of charge at our branches and at the following airports:

  • Gdańsk-Rębiechowo
  • Katowice-Pyrzowice
  • Kraków-Balice
  • Lublin-Świdnik
  • Poznań-Ławica
  • Rzeszów-Jasionka
  • Szczecin-Goleniów
  • Warsaw-Okęcie
  • Wrocław-Strachowice 

What is the minimum rental period?

1 day.

Can a person other than the one specified in the rental contract drive the car?

No, the car can be driven only by the person named in the car rental agreement. Before signing the contract, inform us that the car will be driven by other people, and we will add them to the rental contract. This option costs extra - 10 PLN per day of rental for each additional driver.

What payment methods are available at Kaizen Rent?

You can pay for your rental by debit/credit card or traditional bank transfer, or if you book the vehicle through our website you can pay for the rental online. Please note that you will be asked to present your credit card upon the release of the vehicle in order to block the deposit on your card.

Does the car have to be returned with a full tank of fuel?

The car is rented with a full tank of fuel and must be returned in this condition, unless you have purchased the "Final refueling" package during the reservation, in which case you are exempt from the obligation to return the car with a full tank.

Why am I required to return a clean car? Other rental companies do not require this.

You receive a clean car, and you are obliged to return it in the same condition. In many car rental companies, you are not required to do so, because there is an additional fee added to each rental. At Kaizen Rent, we do not charge such a fee, and we leave the decision about cleaning the car to the customer. If you know that you won't have time to wash/clean the car you can buy a "Final wash" package in advance, and you will be exempt from the obligation to return a clean car.

Is the car insured?

Yes, all of our cars have a comprehensive insurance package. When collecting the car, you will receive an Insurance Certificate from our employee that confirms the validity of the insurance.

What to do in case of a breakdown/accident?
